It’s critical to understand that not all animals can swim. What’s more important, it only takes seconds for disaster to strike and a pet to drown. Many people think that dogs are natural swimmers because everyone talks about doggy paddling, but only some breeds are suited for water. Some breeds are even at more of a risk of drowning due to their body structure and facial features. The dogs most at risk include Pugs, Bulldogs, Dachshunds, Pekingese, Boxers, Basset Hounds and more. Of course, any pet could be trained to swim with enough time and patience.
